Aichi Times School Newspaper
Students in the first and second years of the Global Studies Course (国際教養コース) created an English-language school newspaper as the final project for their Interactive English class.
During the first semester, students practiced a variety of writing styles, including interviews, restaurant and location reviews, survey reports, and articles about trips and school events. In the second semester, they focused on drafting, revising, and refining their articles. During the third semester, students worked on layout and design to prepare the newspaper for publication.
The finished newspaper included a wide range of topics, such as profiles of three Japanese professionals working in Cambodia, a review of the new IG Arena in Nagoya, a comparison of school life in Poland and the United States, and a review of sushi chain restaurants in Japan. In total, the newspaper featured 19 original student-written articles and was shared with teachers and students at the school.
This was the first edition of Aichi Times – Student News, and we hope it will become an annual tradition.
Aichi Times 学校新聞
国際教養コースの1・2年生が、「Interactive English」の授業の集大成として、英語による学校新聞を制作しました。
1学期には、インタビュー記事、レストランや場所のレビュー、アンケート調査の報告、学校行事や校外活動のレポートなど、さまざまな文章スタイルについて学びました。2学期には、それぞれが記事の執筆と推敲を重ね、内容をより良いものにしていきました。3学期には、新聞として完成させるため、レイアウトやデザインの作業に取り組みました。
完成した新聞には、カンボジアで活躍する日本人3名を紹介する記事、名古屋に新しく誕生したIGアリーナのレビュー、ポーランドとアメリカの学校生活の比較、日本の回転寿司チェーンのレビューなど、多彩なテーマの記事が掲載されています。全部で19本の生徒によるオリジナル記事が掲載され、校内の教員や生徒に紹介されました。
今回が『Aichi Times – Student News』の記念すべき第1号となります。今後も毎年発行される企画として続いていくことを期待しています。
